Above the entrance to the Aalborg City Hall you will finde King Frederik the 5th's motto "Prudentia et Constantia", which means "Wisdom and Perseverance". The old City Hall was built in 1762 and with its light form and with modest effects the City Hall represents the late Baroque and the Rococo period. Today the City Hall is used for registry-office wedding and representative purposes.
