At the museum of art Kunsten you can see beautiful and exciting art inside a beautiful building. The museum building was drawn by the architects Elissa and Alvar Aalto and Jean-Jacques Baruel and was built from 1968-72. The museum holds a permanent collection of Danish and international art from 1900 until today and has different special exhibitions throughout the year. When visiting the museum you have access to the sculpture park and the amphitheater and among other things you can play with Jeppe Hein’s Water Pavillon.
Do you want to go a quiet place then take the elevator underground and see the well-preserved ruins from the medieval Gråbrødrekloster (Franciscan Friary). Here you can see the convent’s basement, the church’s foundations and much more.

If you really want to enjoy the silence of nature, you should visit the island Egholm. By following the yellow path around Egholm, you will pass many of the island's exciting locations, the rich wild life and flora. On the island you will moreover find a child friendly beach which is perfect for fishing crabs and to find mussels, starfish and many other exciting beach findings.
Østerådalen has a rich bird life by the shallow lakes and winding stream. Visit the bird tower where there will be a good chance to see the different birds in the area.
Take you family for a walk in Mølleparken, just behind Aalborg Zoo, where you can enjoy the beautiful view over Aalborg, The Limfjord, Egholm and Gjøl and in the city park Østre Anlæg you can feed the ducks.
It is allowed to fish at the harbour in Aalborg and you can for instance catch garfish and herrings. Along the Limfjord there are fine fishing areas and put & take lakes.
