Aalborg – rich in experiences

City life and events - Aalborg offers a wealth of experiences for young and old.

The southwestern part of Aalborg is a must, if nature and wildlife are high on your to-do list. With well over 100 different exotic species, there are opportunities to learn about them year round at Aalborg Zoo. Here visitors can see and follow how the animals adapt to the seasons and hunt for distinctive and lesser-known animals.

Need more speed ahead? On stumps, ropes, lines, nets and much more, as an active guest at the climbing park, you have a chance to get high up in the treetops, which features 23 ziplines, tightropes and the 14-meter free fall where you can catch glimpses of the animals in Aalborg Zoo. Klatreparken Aalborg [Aalborg Climbing Park] is actually located in Mølleparken which is next door to Aalborg Zoo. Mølleparken is one of the city’s largest parks from 1934 with a unique art and nature area. You can enjoy fantastic views of Aalborg, the Limfjord, Egholm and Gjøl from the park.

From Mølleparken, it’s not far to one of Aalborg’s famous landmarks – Aalborg Tårnet. The 55 m tall tower is located on the 50 m high hill “Skovbakken” and therefore shoots 105 m into the air. The tower also boasts the city’s finest viewpoint with 360 degree panoramic views of Aalborg.

Scores of cultural experiences in Aalborg

From Aalborg Tower [Aalborg Tårnet], there is a direct view of the Kunsten Museum of Modern Art in Aalborg, which juts out of the green landscape and provides a beautiful setting for world-class visual arts. Further towards the city center is Kildeparken, which houses the iconic singing trees, a musical phenomenon invented by the Aalborg Congress & Culture Center. In 1987, Cliff Richard planted the first tree in what was then called Kunstnerlunden. Since then, many more trees have been added, and today the area contains more than 80 trees planted by international, prominent stars.

Today the area is very centrally located and the houses are private homes. Årlige begivenheder i Aalborg

I sensommeren går Aalborg i rødt.
