Here you will find an overview of all the parks and green areas in Aalborg, along with suggestions for fitness and exercise in them.
The Illuminated Slope is recommended for anyone who fancies a run in the evening. "Lysløjpen" is a 2½ km jogging track in Mølleparken.
The route allows for hill or interval training. This 2½ km stretch has a 45 m gradient.
You will find exercise pavilions in Mølleparken, Bundgårdsparken, Lindholm Strandpark and the Old Golf Course provide you with free open-air fitness facilities. Each pavilion has 3 – 5 different machines for exercising arms, legs and body, e.g. trapeze, wrench, bench press, step machine, wall bar etc.
The old golf court is one of Aalborg's "wilder" parks, where you really get the feeling of being out in the countryside. The park is located right next door to the more cultivated Sohngårdsholmpark. A large part of the area is uncultivated woodland and vegetation. This is a very popular place for jogging and mountain biking.
As the name "Golf Park" suggests, you can also play golf here. There are only 6 holes, but the course gives you a chance to swing your 8 iron and to exercise in total peace and quiet. The area is unstaffed and open to everyone, with the exception of weekdays between 8.00 and 15.00. So take an iron and a putter and off you go!
Aalborg Open Air Swimming Pool is located just 3 km from the city centre. So if you are in Aalborg for a meeting or a conference in the summer and fancy a swim in the open air, there is no problem.
There are 1, 3, 5 and 10 metre diving boards at the deep end. Admission is free and lifeguards are always on duty.
