Lagunen Fugletårn (The Lagunen Birdtower)
You probably get the best view of the Eastcoast from Lagunen Birdtower, which is located near the water with a magnificent view over the sea, the meadows and the rich birdlife that unfolds here.
From Hou, drive along Søndergade to the parking lot at the southern end of the road. From here, follow the path about 300m to the south.
Guldharalds Høj (Guldharald’s Mound)
A bit north of Hals in Winther’s plantation you can find a small piece of Danish history. The Viking chiefs fought over the power in Denmark and Norway and right here was a bloody battle. Guldharald killed Harald Gråfjell. This was celebrated with plenty of mead, but then another rival, Hakon Jarl, turned up and hanged him from a tree. The place of this horrendous event is marked by a modest sign that can be difficult to find. Ask at the tourist office for a route description.
Traktørstedet Raalingen (The Restaurant Raalingen)
The restaurant Raalingen is located as a small gem in the middle of Hou town and was first recorded in 1552. It is an idyllic thatched half-timbered house that every summer offers its guests brasserade grill and roasted pig. Inside the cosy house there is a unique maritime atmosphere.

Hals Mose (Hals Bog)
Previously peat was dug up here at Hals bog. Many families each had their own little plot and there were grown potatoes and during the season there were also picked berries, which were made into jam or stewed fruit. Today there are good chances of spotting deer, hare or pheasant, especially in the early morning hours or in the evening twilight.
From Hals, drive north on Uldstedvej about 3.3km and then right on Kanalvej, which goes through the bog.
