Bisnap named best bathing beach in Northern Jutland

In the summer of 2006, the newspaper Jyllands-Posten polled its readers: how do you like the Danish beaches, and which are your favourites? Readers could consider several criteria, including child-friendliness and public conveniences.
That Northern Jutland had the best beaches was not so surprising. But when the relatively unknown beach at Bisnap just north of Hals was named the best beach in Northern Jutland, a few eyebrows went up.
But the judgement of the readers was clear: Bisnap Beach earned first place because it is child-friendly, clean, and quiet. It is not crowded as so many beaches are. Moreover, there are good public conveniences close by, and there is a handicapped-friendly path to the beach, so even those in wheelchairs can enjoy the sea.
Despite the result of the poll, many locals were surprised: Is Bisnap Beach really better than the other beaches between Hals and Hou? The answer for now is “No,” but visit them yourself to find your favourite beach. There’s room for many.
The waters of the east coast deposit more and more sand on the coast each year, forming lagoons and islets. As a tourist and bather, you can even find your own personal bathing island.
