If you wish to add a bit of culture to your holiday there are many great attractions in Hals.
Below is a selection of the many great things to see on the East Coast.
Hals Skanse
"Skansen”, a grassed over fortification, is from around 1600, when it was in Swedish possession for a period of time. During World War II it was used by the Nazis as military headquarters. There are still 3 cannons in the entrenchment and Hals Museum is also situated here.
Smykket
"Smykket" was made by the goldsmith Bent Exner and is a finger-ring in giant size. The 14 metre high work of art was put up in 2004.
Whale Jaws
Hals has a unique landmark – whale jawbones that tower over Hals Torv. You will find nothing else like them in all of Denmark.
Langhuset Scottish/Irish craftshop. Preformances with Scottish/Irish folk musik in the Music Café.
Monument on Hou pier constructed by Bjarne Høj. The 'Vindharpen' gives off melancholy sounds in the wind.
Kjærsminde-samlingen
The Kjærsminde Collection is a dollmuseum with about 700 dolls and 400 boxes. There are also different.
Ryghvirvlerne
At a small square in Midtergade there is a distinct monument called the 'Ryghvirvlerne', which comes from a blue whale.
