water art in nibe
Along the fjord lie the old fishing hamlets of Sebbersund, Valsted, and Staun, all of which are worth a visit. Many practicing artists have settled in the area, inspired by the beautiful countryside and the unique light by the fjord.

As a result, Nibe has many art exhibitions, sculptures, and other cultural offerings. Galleri Tinghuset and the town council chamber at Nibe Town Hall present changing exhibitions the year round.

fresco in nibe church
In the middle of town is Nibe Church, the herring town’s landmark. In 1992, many beautiful murals from the Middle Ages were uncovered in the church, which is worth a visit. Nibe Church is home to one of Denmark’s most special and characterful church ships. A herring scaffie symbolizes that Nibe was originally a fishing town, whose existence and affluence came from herring fishing in the Limfjord.

Nibe Church is open daily from 9 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.
