In the middle of town is Nibe Church, the herring town’s landmark. In 1992, many beautiful murals from the Middle Ages were uncovered in the church, which is worth a visit. Nibe Church is home to one of Denmark’s most special and characterful church ships. A herring scaffie symbolizing that Nibe was originally a fishing town, whose existence and affluence came from herring fishing in the Limfjord.
Nibe Church is open daily from 9:00AM to 3:30PM, although it is closed during the Nibe Festival and the Nibe Herring Market.
