Indoor insight
The Visitors’ Center in Lille Vildmose is built around the idea that visitors should be able to sense how the area for thousands of years has shifted to become, what it is today – the largest raised bog in Northwestern Europe.
The intriguing development is illustrated at the visitors’ center by use of modern design and technology. Try for example the Eagle simulator or watch a movie in the center's cinema. You can also witness a number of smaller animals native to the area in their indoor cages.
In the center's
Café Soldug, you can have a nice meal while enjoying the view of the bog. Climp the tall tower outside the center for the best possible view of the area, and don't forget to visit the outdoor playground.
Outdoor discovery
All around the visitors’ center, you will find various visitors’ towers such as
the tower of birds of prey,
Høstemark Forrest, the towers by the lakes,
Tofte Sø and
Lille Sø, the Portland Bog and many others – you can easily spend days exploring Lille Vildmose. And the staff at the visitors’ center stand ready to guide you.
The center also arrange guided bus tours into
Tofte Forrest - a large nature area that is usually closed to the public. The regulated entrance to the area ensures great conditions for the wild life here, and on the guided bus tours, there is a good chance of seeing deer and wild boar - and perhaps you will spot
the Golden Eagle or
the White Tailed Eagle, who both breed in the area.
