The fjord and the sea

The Lille Vildmose area has always been marked by water. Indeed, all they way back to the time when the Litorina Sea stretched all the way into the limestone cliffs at Kjællingbjerg and Gudumholm. Today, many in our area live on the ancient ocean floor.

OestkystLille Vildmose is almost surrounded by water

The Lille Vildmose area is almost surrounded by water. 15 kilometres of the Limfjord and 15 kilometres of the Kattegat border two sides. The small streams Lindenborg Å and Haslelvgaard Å complete our “encirclement.”

Let’s look at what all this water has meant for our area.

30 kilometres of seaside offer many possibilities

Even though much of the coast lies by areas of shallow water, many small fishing sites have existed over the years. Today, some of these are places of relaxation for many local anglers: Stejlgabet, Nørskærvej, and Mou Bro, among others.

More free time and the great angling possibilities on the coasts and streams have opened opportunities for other activities. Two delightful yacht harbours are in the area: Mou Lystbådehavn and Egense Lystbådehavn. From these you can enjoy angling from boats and enjoy sailing on both fjord and sea. And the long stretches of low water areas are great for windsurfing, both along the Limfjord coast and the Kattegat.

We don’t have webbed feet, but we must admit that water historically has meant a great deal to our area. We enjoy it in more ways than our ancestors – which only shows our ability to renew ourselves.

The coast along Lille Vildmose is ideal for both fishing and relaxation...
