In the Lille Vildmose area, you will find many artists whose craft – be it painting, sculpture, glass, or amber – interpret their everyday surroundings.
Galleri Havgården north of Dokkedal is a very locally anchored gallery whose owner uses bog oak to create sculptures inspired by the bog and its nature. Other local artists often present their works here.
Glasshouse Anna Flohr, another local gallery, is in Lillevorde. The owner works with glass, which has been used in Denmark since the earliest of times, as evidenced by the Iron Age settlement excavated at Tofthøj, west of Storvorde.
Along the area’s 30 kilometres of coast, you can, with a little luck, find pieces of amber, which has been used for jewellery since time immemorial. That tradition continues – also in our area.
Art is important in our area. Two local art associations - Glam and Dunhammeren – actively arrange exhibitions for local artists to present their work, and Dunhammeren mounts an exhibition at Vildmosegård each July.
