View beautiful and interesting art in a beautiful and interesting building. The museum building is designed by the architects Elissa and Alvar Aalto and Jean-Jacques Baruel and was built in 1968-72. The museum houses a permanent collection of Danish and International art dating from 1900 to the present as well as varying special exhibitions. Encircling the museum is a sculpture park and an amphitheatre. Concerts, films, seminars, etc. are held periodically.

Underground museum. Take the elevator under ground and see the well preserved ruins of the medieval Franciscan Friary. Among other things you can see the walled cellar and foundation of the friary chapel. There are exhibitions with models, finds and displays of the excavations and about friary life in medieval Aalborg.
Entrance price DKK 20 per 250kg.
The museum is located in the middle of the city centre and a visit can successfully be combined with a day of shopping.

The Jako Bole Theatre is Northern Jutland’s only professional children’s theatre and it is located in the theatre house in the city centre. Each year the theatre has new shows for children of the ages 11/2 to 16 with some of Danish Children’s Theatre’s best theatre companies. In total there are more than 220 shows each season.

Tante Andantes house in Aalborg invites all children and playful souls to visit Auntie Andante, Rabalder Helge and all of their friends in their crazy house of fun. Here you can sing, dance and act. You can be silly and you can learn new things – in this house everything is allowed; only the imagination sets the limit. Go exploring in the indoor forest, listen to a story in one of the fairytale cars or feel your way through this house of senses. The house has the same kind of spirit, which can be found in the universe of Halfdan Rasmussen and Astrid Lindgren. Twice a day we invite you to take part in a special Auntie Andante work shop. Here you will not be entertained but in stead encouraged and inspired to become part of an environment that exudes love, fantasy and knowledge. Tante Andantes House is not a childcare facility – the children have to be able to take care of themselves or be in the company of an adult.
