Aalborg Zoo is a lovely green garden, where you can get close to 1600 exciting and endangered animals from around the world. Visit the polar bear grounds with polar bears both above and under water, or visit the great African Savannah with tall impressive giraffes. Do not forget to meet the monkeys, elephants, hippopotamuses, bears, wolves and all the other animals. There is also a playground and small goats that you can pet.

Vildtfarm Nord has many different animals and birds from the temperate regions of the world. The animals can be seen in their natural environment and there are, among others, deer, free-range pigs, Icelandic ponies, donkeys, goats, peacocks and rock partridges. Besides all these interesting animals, there is also an alpine garden with colourful plants and a garden of butterflies with flowers and shrubs, which attract the butterflies and give them nectar.
Open from April to October.

Østre Anlæg is one of Aalborg’s city parks. It is a large recreational area with an excellent playground. There is a lake with lots of ducks. This is a popular place for families with children as the ducks love to be fed.

Østerådalen is a large recreational area (nature recovery and rehabilitation project of 100 hectars) with a rich bird life at the water-meadows, shallow lakes and the winding stream. The area has a bird tower, marked routes and the dog wood is an ideal place for walking your dog.

Aalborg Habour
The Limfjord runs through Aalborg and Nørresundby.
Go fishing in the middle of the city centre. In Aalborg it is permitted to fish from the quayside. Here you can catch garfish, herring, eel, cod, trout and flatfish. Throw your line in and see what the season and luck brings you.

Aalborg open air swimming pool
is located in the green areas of the west end of Aalborg right by the Limfjord. It is the water from the Limfjord that runs into the pool. Outside the open air swimming pool there is a bathing jetty if you wish to swim directly in the Limfjord.
