Father Christmas will arrive in Aalborg on 29 November. Sailing by ship direct from Greenland, he will land on the quayside opposite Aalborghus Castle. The arrival of Father Christmas will mark the opening of the Christmas market in Aalborg.
The city centre will be filled with the Christmas atmosphere, together with a lot of Christmas activities. On Gammel Torv in the city centre, there will be a lot of small log cabins for the sale of Christmas punch, traditional Danish doughnuts etc. Entertainment will include Christmas theatre, concerts, carols etc.
Next to the Christmas market you will find a large outdoor skating rink on C. W Obels Square. The skating rink also opens on 29 November.
Friday 28 November is Christmas Shopping Night in the city of Aalborg and all the shops are open until 10pm giving you plenty of time to shop the night away. You will have plenty of opportunity to find the perfect Christmas gifts – both for your loved ones and for yourself.
And of course the beautiful Christmas street decorations contribute to create the appropriate seasonal atmosphere.

The arrival of Santa Claus Saturday November 29, Santa Claus arrives is Aalborg City directly from Greenland. His great ship will be put in at the quay at Aalborg Harbour 11:00, where thousands of children and adults
will greet the cheerful Santa Claus. The mayor of Aalborg will officially welcome Santa Claus.
Around 11:30, Santa Claus and the mayor will ride their sleigh around the city and end by Santa’s house at ‘Gammeltorv’.
