What distinguishes Aalborg Carnival from most other carnivals is that everyone can participate in the Grand Parade. The parade moves through the streets of Aalborg and ends up in Kildeparken, where the festivities reach their climax and the biggest and most colorful party of the year takes place!
Festive atmosphere
A diversified entertainment program at the Kildeparken contributes to a festive atmosphere. The park is transformed into a giant festival area where happy and dressed up people enjoy entertainment that stretches from competitions to dance and music from different stages. Rock, pop, afro, reggae, samba and the latest disco vibes enchant the park. Moreover, you can enjoy drinks with pirates, princesses and fantasy figures in different theme bars. The party continues until just before midnight where an amazing fireworks show symbolizes the end of Aalborg Carnival.
Battle of Carnival Bands in Aalborg Enjoy the inventiveness, experience the diversity of carnival traditions and be impressed by great costumes and rhythms from all corners of the world at the Battle of Carnival Bands! The Battle of the Carnival Bands consists of a parade and several stage shows where international carnivals groups compete to win the title 'Best Carnival Group of the Year'. The top 5 groups proceed to the grand final show of the Battle, which takes place in Kildeparken on Saturday right after the Grand Parade.
The Childrens Carnival
The Children's Carnival Parade takes places the Saturday before the Grand Parade at C. W. Obels Plads. From here, about 5,000 dressed up children and their parents march along the parade route to Kildeparken. On this day, the park turns into a kingdom for children of all ages - a kingdom of magic and bubbling jo,y a wonderful universe full of singing and music, with a wide range of entertainment and activities. The Children’s Carnival offers the whole family a joyful and entertaining day. So bring your family and enjoy a day of fun together.
