Art, Technology and Beach Bar
Platform4 is a new cultural experiment based in a 3000-m2 warehouse on Aalborg’s East Harbour. This non-profit organisation provides space for workshops, exploratoriums, offices and all sorts of other useful facilities. From time to time there are live concerts and a beach bar.

Fantastic Films
Biffen Art Cinema (or ”Biffen”) is Aalborg’s only independent cinema. It shows thought-provoking films from all over the world, but with an emphasis on European repertoire. In addition to its regular programme, Biffen also mounts film festivals and regularly shows short films, novella films and cult movies.

Air Guitar and Improv Theatre
Transformator is aimed at a restless public with a penchant for odd angles, experiments and cold beer from an automatic dispenser. Located in a corner of Aalborg Theatre, it is conceived as an open stage where all sorts of free-minded projects can see the light of day.

The Creative Cake Factory
Cookiefactory started out in 2004 as a small-scale platform for individual designers and creative minds. Subsequently it has developed into a café, shop, gallery etc. all under the same roof. So drop in for a cup of delicious, sustainable coffee or to see the enormous selection of unique products in their shop, including Cookiefactory’s very own brand, Fromage.

Punk Café in Kattesundet
For more than 25 years 1000Fryd has been synonymous with everything alternative. With about 100 concerts a year (everything from punk, hardcore, metal and reggae to soul, jazz etc.) there is something for every taste. There are also rehearsal rooms, a sound studio, a cinema, a spacious atelier, a workshop, conference rooms and a little bookshop. In short, it offers excellent opportunities for anyone wanting to spread their creative wings.

Chill Out in the West End
Ib Rene Cairo is a charming little café in the Aalborg’s West End. The café’s unique atmosphere is relaxed and informal with loads of colour, comfy sofas and chairs of all shapes and sizes, which you are welcome to move outdoors, if the weather permits.
