Grøn Koncert 2008
An all-day musical event that tours in 8 cities around Denmark. A vide range of popular Danish bands will perform in both Danish and English. Among them are: Burhan G, Spleen United, Agua and DAD.

Flying Super Kids
After having sold out 17 shows last summer, the world famous show troupe Flying Superkids is touring Denmark for the third year in a row with their show tent – and there will be both new performances and new songs in the programme.
Flying Superkids is a troupe consisting of children aged 7-20 years old and the best gymnastics in Denmark of their age group. Flying Superkids has through the years developed into a unique show ensemble with acrobatics, tumbling, singing and dancing.

Hals Entrenchment Market and Gunpowder Festival
Hals Entrenchment is Denmark’s best preserved entrenchment from the renaissance. The entrenchment was build during the reign of King Christian IV and was used several times against Sweden and England. During the festival there will be several activities and stalls and there will be free entrance for everyone to Hals Museum. In addition to this the cannons and guns will be fired.

Summer Concert with Aalborg Symphony Orchestra
Last year, Aalborg Symphony Orchestra began a late summer tradition where the orchestra gives an open air concert. At this concert the orchestra and rhythm group have teamed up with the very versatile actress and singer Birgitte Raaberg, who will also act as a compère for the show. Furthermore, the very musical vocal ensemble baSix will perform with the orchestra with music and songs by for example Elvis Presley, Queen and Bent Fabricius-Bjerre. There will also be songs by Randi Crawford, Bette Midler, Barbara Streisand etc.
We welcome you to a wonderful musical night in Skovdalen.

Den Blå Festival - the blue festival
For one week, Aalborg sings the blues and plays jazz jazz jazz. The city's squares, open spaces and performance venues turn into swinging jazz clubs. The Blue Festival has now become a yearly event the whole city looks forward to. It creates a unique atmosphere in the city, where citizens, visitors and passers-by find places at tables and benches to listen to the music being performed on the many stages throughout the city centre. The Blue Festival's program features both Danish and international blues- and jazz musicians.

Summer Concert with Aalborg Symphony Orchestra
Promenade Concert – Nordic Version
Aalborg Symphony Orchestra begins a new tradition with an annual promenade concert after the British example. The theme of this years concert is ‘Danish and Nordic Music’, and with a cheerful approach. This form of concert is characterised by the audience being allowed to stand up and make noises during the concert – exactly according to British tradition. However, there will also be a few rows of seats available in the concert hall.

Limfjordskrydseren
The inlet becomes alive August 23, when the swimming competition Limfjordskrydseren starts. This year there will be 2 routes, one at 600 metres and one at 1500 metres. There are room for 300 swimmers on the short route and 100 on the long route across the inlet from the western promenade by the harbour in Aalborg to between the bridges and Nørresundby.

Aalborg City Fashion and Culture
Aalborg city will run a fashion show on the red carpet which will be laid out in many of the shopping streets in Aalborg. Each day there will be music and entertainment and all kinds of cultural arrangements. The event will open on September 2nd with a glamorous fashion show Fashion Event in Jomfru Ane Gade and will end September 5th with the day and night arrangements, where the shops will be open till 10 pm on this day.

Day in the marshland
Experience the fascinating marshland in and around the Lille Vildmose Centre. In the courtyard between the centre and Vildmose farm, there will be a marketplace with stalls, exhibits and a true market atmosphere. There will also be presentations and samples of local products from the marshland, and throughout the day there will be entertainment, contests and other exciting activities.
The activities around the centre are all free of charge, while the Lille Vildmose Centre has an entrance fee – the centre is open 10.00 – 16.00.

That’ll Be the Day
Directly from London – the rock ’n’ roll show that makes the audience laugh and remember the good old days. The repertoire, which includes more than 80 of the greatest hits from the 1950’s, 1960’s and 1970’s, will start a party where legends such as The Beatles, Buddy Holly, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley and many more will be brought back to life on stage. Vienna Philharmonic
There is perhaps no musical ensemble more consistently and closely associated with the history and tradition of European classical music than the Vienna Philharmonic. This Concert will be directed by Christoph Eschenbach and will be the orchestra’s only concert in all of Scandinavia.

Times Square Productions visits Aalborg Congress & Culture Centre with Andrew Lloyd Webbers and Tim Rice’s world famous musical Evita, about Eva Perón’s moving life as Argentina’s first lady.
The musical tells the story about the ambitious beauty’s road from the provinces and to the role as Argentina’s first lady next to the dictator Juan Perón, and until she dies of cancer 33 years old.

The arrival of Santa Claus
Saturday November 29, Santa Claus arrives is Aalborg City directly from Greenland. His great ship will be put in at the quay at Aalborg Harbour 11:00, where thousands of children and adults will greet the cheerful Santa Claus. The mayor of Aalborg will officially welcome Santa Claus.
Around 11:30, Santa Claus and the mayor will ride their sleigh around the city and end by Santa’s house at ‘Gammeltorv’.

Shaftesbury Theatre in London stages the new and exciting musical Daddy Cool in Aalborg Congress & Culture Centre.
The musical is based on Boney M’s popular classics. Experience the well-known songs such as: Rivers of Babylon, Brown Girl in the Ring, Ma Baker, Girl You Know It’s True, Where Do You Go, One Way Ticket and Mary’s Boychild.

Zorba - Il Grecco
Sofia National Opera presents the ballet Zorba – Il Greco, which has received great success all over the world since the first show in 1988. With more than 3 million people in the audience, it was one of the most popular ballets in the 20th century.

The Love Potion – Opera in Aalborg Congress & Culture Centre 
Den Jyske Opera and instructor Andrea De Rosa presents the comical opera The Love Potion, which was staged in Milan in 1832 for the first time. The opera will be performed in Italian with Danish subtitles.

The Seven Deadly Sins/ Trouble in Tahiti
Music dramatic Theatre presents an exciting “2-in-1 performance” with The Seven Deadly Sins by Kurt Weill and Trouble in Tahiti by Leonard Bernstein.
The Seven Deadly Sins is a “singing” ballet in seven images based on the seven deadly sins: lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy and pride.
Trouble in Tahiti was composed in 1952 as a comment to the 1950’s in the United States by the world-famous Leonard Bernstein, who among other things is known for the musical West Side Story.

Boris Gudonov – Opera in Aalborg Congress & Culture Centre
A great experience is to be expected when The National opera Theatre of Ukraine stages the famous opera Boris Gudonov by Mussorgskijs under the direction of Vladimir Koschuchar. The opera is among the greatest works in the literature of opera and represents the spirit and soul of the Russian people.
