Aalborg is a lively city
Aalborg is buzzing with activity - day and night, summer and winter. The people of Aalborg love to celebrate, whenever they get the chance.
The
Carnival in Aalborg is the largest carnival in Northern Europe - a time when the whole city bubbles with high spirits. The main event - the carnical parade - is without a doubt the most visited event in Aalborg throughout the year.
But Aalborg also offers smaller high quality events all year round. The
theatres of the city have both traditional and experimental performances and
Aalborg Congress & Culture Centre offers everything from ballet and opera to concerts, musicals and shows with international names. Aalborg has many exciting
music venues, and the city offers everything from classical concerts to large outdoor rock concerts.
Musical events in the summer
Throughout the summer, there are musical events – large and small – in various city locations. Open-air concerts in parks present everything from rock to folk, Danish pop to classic.
There is live music in rhythmic music venues,
pubs and discos. Every year in July comes the
Nibe Festival and in August comes the
Blue Festival – for jazz and blues fans. And there really is music in the air - all through the city.
Aalborg's waterfront
Aalborg's waterfront is an experience in itself. See extraordinary art and architecture, enjoy the atmosphere, gastronomical experiences and café life, and enjoy the view over the Limfjord. In the summer, the large cruise ships dock here.
