We focus on and support certain/specific core areas meaning that businesses, public authorities, the university, institutions etc. co-operate on various tasks.
It is a success....
Aalborg and North Denmark constitute an international hub for IT, communication and electronics. We co-operate intensely on developing professional competences - this is rendered visible with e.g. NorCom, an effective cluster of 20 partners, and with Mindwork, an alliance between the County of North Jutland, the Municipality of Aalborg, key companies within IT and electronics etc. Furthermore, Aalborg also holds the "ElektronikDag" - a combination of exhibition and workshops representing the core area of IT and electronics where app. 50 companies participate.
We are visionary....
Medico technology - or "Science and Innovation for the Living" - is an entirely new area of interest in which all political actors, Aalborg University and a number of companies within the fields of medico and health technology are developing a number of technologies. Together, they co-ordinate marketing, information, fairs, conferences - all the relevant parameters which may be of importance to development.
Of course Aalborg has more to offer. Several large companies within export and import of foodstuffs are situated in North Denmark. In addition, the traditional trades are still very successful - e.g. Aalborg Industries, which is among the world’s leading developers and manufacturers of boilers. Furthermore, well-established companies such as Aalborg Portland A/S and Dansk Eternit A/S experience an ever-increasing sale to all parts of the world.
The stainless steel industry of Aalborg is also very renowned as several North Danish companies are among the leading producers on the global market of a wide range of products for breweries, dairies, seafood processing etc. TK Development is Denmark’s largest property development company and one of the leading developers in the world within the field of shopping malls. Among their projects may be mentioned the construction of several new shopping centres in Poland for e.g. French investors. Aalborg is certainly on the map!
One of Aalborg’s great strengths is its educational sector. The colleges of further education are among the largest in Denmark and the university has a student-population of 12,000. The consequence of this is that Aalborg City has a youthful character, coloured by young people’s visions. As to provide a service to Danish and international employees/parents living and working in the global community of Aalborg, an international school (for pupils from 6-16) has been established. Aalborg also offers the International Baccalaureate-programme.
Aalborg is proactive....
